LG Nexus 5 Leaks: Features and October Release Date

Recent leaks suggest LG will be the manufacturer of the upcoming Nexus 5, slated for an October release.

According to rumors, the official release of Google’s next Nexus smartphone is just around the corner. The latest leaks suggest the device will be available for purchase in October. Furthermore, a recent report indicates that LG will once again be the manufacturer of the Nexus 5, putting an end to speculation about a return to Samsung or Motorola’s involvement. It appears that LG is working on launching a new device, the LG G2, which will essentially be a clone of the new Nexus 5 in terms of specifications, with the exception of the “Google-experience“.

Based on the LG G2’s features, it’s deduced that the LG Nexus 5 will possibly sport a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor and at least 2 GB of RAM. The display is expected to be a sizable 5.2-inch Full HD screen, and the main camera might feature a 13-megapixel sensor with optical image stabilization. Support for ultra-fast 4G and LTE-Advanced connectivity is also anticipated. The entire package is likely to be powered by a 2700 mAh battery.

It is important to note that these are just rumors, so the exact specifications of the new Nexus 5 cannot be confirmed at this time. However, regardless of the manufacturer chosen by Google, it is highly probable that the operating system for the next Nexus 5 will be the already rumored Android 5 Key Lime Pie. We now await official announcements from LG or Google. If the launch is indeed scheduled for the first week of October, a revealing presentation should be happening very soon.
