The long-awaited and much-discussed Googlephone, LG Nexus 4, will not be sold in Italy. The confirmation of what has been hypothesized for several weeks has arrived.
We promptly reported the news of the release of the LG Nexus 4, the new Googlephone resulting from the collaboration between Google and LG.
Ever since the first rumors about the LG Nexus 4, there was talk of a competitively priced smartphone, but shortly after its official presentation, the rumor spread that the price in Italy would be much higher than purchasing the device from Google’s official store – the Play Store Device – where, indeed, there could have been convenience.
Too bad that purchases from Italy through this distribution channel were not planned, and therefore interested users would have had to wait for the commercialization directly by LG.
Hence the hypothesis of a retail price much higher than expected, around 570 euros.
Today, however, the official news has arrived: the new LG Nexus 4 device will not be distributed by LG in our country at all.
Despite the lack of an official statement, the news is spreading because the staff responsible for managing and moderating the LG Italia Facebook page responded to a user who posted a link with a disgruntled comment about the device’s high retail price.
At this point, the profile “LG Italia – Life’s Good” responded verbatim: “Hi Christian, LG Electronics Italia will not distribute the Nexus 4 smartphone on the Italian market. The LG and Google branded smartphone remains available on the Google Play Store in countries where the service is active“.
Thus, the speculations about the retail price and the arrival of the LG Nexus 4 in our stores and online outlets come to an end: the device will never see direct distribution in Italy by LG.
