iPhone Passcodes Too Basic According to Research

What are the most used iPhone passcodes? Based on this question, research highlights the excessive banality of many of them. The most used numerical sequence? 1234.

Choosing a password has become a routine operation for everyone, yet the protection purpose is not always assured. Is it the fault of hackers being too good? No, it’s the fault of the banality of passwords. iPhone is no exception: even the king of smartphones requires passwords to ensure the protection of its data and accounts.
Today, data on the most used iPhone passcodes has been released. The “study” was conducted by Daniel Amitay, who, using a dedicated app, analyzed the access codes of just over 204,500 Apple devices (and their respective users).
The classic passcode that never fades is “1234”, followed by “0000”: zero imagination, and therefore a very high risk level.
In third place, we find the sequence “2580”: while at first glance it may not seem connected to anything particularly common, we invite you to pick up your iPhone or mobile phone and try it. These are indeed the keys positioned vertically in the central row of the keypad.
Furthermore, there’s no shortage of repetitions of the same numbers (“1111”) nor hymns to romance: the sequence “5683” is also widely used, which, when decoded from numbers to letters on an alphanumeric keyboard, spells the wordlove“.
Many iPhone passcodes include the birth year, with a certain prevalence for those born between 1990 and 2000: in this case too, a malicious person who possesses this data will be able to act on the iPhone undisturbed with great ease.
It is true that, surrounded as we are by devices, email addresses, social network accounts, and online banking credentials, imagination begins to run dry, and finding a complex yet easily memorable password is a titanic undertaking. However, entering a very basic 1234 is probably a sign of excessive laziness.
