Anticipation for the release of iPhone 5 is growing. Asian sources suggest that production of Apple’s new device has indeed begun, leading to the belief that the iPhone 5 release will occur in October.
The technical timeline aligns perfectly, making an autumn release hypothesis quite plausible.
However, the most interesting aspect of the iPhone 5 previews today centers on the terminal’s design: some photos circulating online reveal an unprecedented detail in the iPhone 5’s structure.
It appears that on what is allegedly the front casing of the device, there is a small hole at the top, centrally located.
This suggests that the iPhone 5 might feature a front-facing camera, likely useful for activating FaceTime and maximizing its use.
Doubts remain regarding the function of the hole located nearby: with some speculating it’s a proximity sensor and others suggesting an NFC module, there’s still a flurry of unverified hypotheses to consider.

Furthermore, the screen size itself seems larger, accommodating a 16:9 aspect ratio.
The new display would thus be larger than its predecessors and would be a “Retina” type.
Additionally, the iPhone 5 chassis appears to be thinner, and ruling out aluminum for the entire structure, there’s renewed talk of a glass casing, at least on the rear. Perhaps only the edges will be metallic.
Finally, it seems the dock connector will also be smaller.
In the accompanying photo for this article – flagged by Macrumors.com – it is possible to observe the hypothetical new design architecture of the iPhone 5.
