Apparently, according to DigiTimes, Apple is in the process of acquiring machinery specifically used for glass cutting to enable the creation of curved screens.
Yes, it seems that Cupertino intends to, in a way, emulate the screen of the fifth-generation iPod Nano, equipping the new iPhone 5 with the same feature.
However, Apple’s request seems to have caught its usual suppliers off guard, prompting the company itself to quickly procure specialized machinery to avoid production delays for the new iPhone model.
This would not be an absolute novelty in the sector, as the Nexus S has this type of display; nor would it be for Apple in the strictest sense, precisely because – as mentioned earlier – the fifth-generation iPod Nano is made exactly like this.
