Whatever happened to the iPhone 5? It was not presented by Tim Cook during the event held yesterday, which was supposed to bring a wave of novelty. The new arrival, however, is the iPhone 4S: here are its prices and features.
The climate of great expectations nurtured for weeks regarding the possible release of iPhone 5 has experienced a sudden freeze: during yesterday’s event, Tim Cook – for the first time on stage instead of Steve Jobs – did not present the new device to the world.
In its place, however, iPhone 4S appeared, what we at FullPress nicknamed “Affordable iPhone 4” but which is much more enthusiastically called by Apple “the best iPhone ever“.
According to technical notes, it should indeed be much faster than its predecessors, thanks to the implementation of the dual-core A5 chip processor, decidedly more powerful and responsive.
The camera has been improved, now at 8 megapixels, and the battery life also shows a discrete “plus” sign compared to older models.
Another significant novelty is the ability to use voice commands, usable both for phone functions and for web searches.
Currently, only three languages are accepted: English, German, and French.
The prices of iPhone 4S for Italy are not yet known, but we can report that in the United States it will be sold starting October 14th at the following prices:
- iPhone 4S 16 GB: $199;
- iPhone 4S 32 GB: $299;
- iPhone 4S 64 GB: $399.
These prices are valid and confirmed against a contract with one of the mobile carriers that have agreements with Apple, and therefore they are Sprint Nextel, AT&T, and Verizon.
Regarding Italy, the new iPhone 4S will be available starting October 28th.
