Apple has unveiled the new iPad Mini, officially presented after months of anticipation and rumors. Here’s the release date, features, and prices for the iPad Mini.
Finally, after weeks of searching for confirmation, here is the official answer from Apple to the question: “Does the iPad Mini exist?“.
During the event held a few hours ago, Apple indeed presented the new reduced-format tablet, although – contrary to early predictions – the screen turned out to be slightly larger than anticipated.
iPad Mini actually features a 7.9-inch LED-backlit screen with a resolution of 1024×768 pixels.
The casing is unibody, with 23% greater thinness compared to its predecessor (the third-generation iPad) and a 53% reduction in weight, also compared to the previous model on the market. This means the thickness is 7.2 millimeters, while the weight is 308 grams.
Regarding the camera and video features, the presence of a FaceTime HD camera and a 5-megapixel iSight camera is noteworthy, which also allows for 1080p Full HD video recording.
Its heart is a powerful A5 dual-core chip, and regarding battery life, Apple claims the iPad Mini can be used for 10 hours on a single charge.
Fast connectivity is ensured by dual-band Wi-Fi 802.11n (2.4GHz and 5GHz), but of course, there’s also the option to choose the version with 3G connectivity and connection to ultra-fast networks that are gradually arriving in Italy.
Onboard the iPad Mini, Siri voice assistance could not be missing, and just like the iPhone 5, there is the 30-pin Lightning connector.
iPad Mini can already be pre-ordered, although the release date in Italy is set for November 2nd, so shipments will occur on that day.
