HTC Wildfire S has an affordable price with almost all the features of its larger siblings in the HTC “fleet”. Let’s find out more.
HTC is increasingly focused on covering every market segment for its smartphones, and with the HTC Wildfire S, it has specifically targeted a discerning audience that doesn’t want to spend too much.
HTC Wildfire S runs on Android 2.3.3 and is equipped with a 600 MHz processor, sufficient to support the smartphone.
Good battery life – a 1230 mAh – and generous internal memory: 512 MB expandable up to 32 GB via microSD. Speaking of microSD, a 2 GB card is included in the package, which is always very useful.
The screen is not exactly the smartphone’s strongest point, but it is certainly more than decent: it’s a 3.2″ capacitive TFT display below which four touch buttons can be used.
The camera is rear-facing and is 5 megapixels with an accompanying LED flash, while in terms of connectivity, HTC has not spared anything: Bluetooth 3.0, Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n, Quad-band GPRS/EDGE/UMTS/HSDPA up to 7.2 Mbps.
The design makes it very similar to its older sibling, the Desire S: both indeed feature a very similar and matte resistant plastic body.
Its dimensions are small but just right: it weighs only 105 grams (including battery) and measures 101.3 x 59.4 x 12.4 mm thick. Small and functional, it easily fits even in the back pocket of jeans.
Easy and smart, it will be perfect for nurturing your online social life, with pre-loaded apps to share your photos on Facebook in just a few touches and anything else that can be useful to your friends and contacts.
The price of the HTC Wildfire S currently ranges on average from about 200 to 260 euros, as can be seen for example on Amazon, which offers various colors and accessories for the HTC Wildfire S.
