Smau returns, from Wednesday 19 to Friday 21 October at pavilions 3 and 4 of Fieramilanocity, with the 48th edition of the main event dedicated to Information & Communication Technology in Italy.
To welcome the more than 50,000 expected professional visitors, there is a packed schedule of events, including awards, workshops, labs, contests, and networking opportunities, aimed at company managers, Public Administration officials, and ICT channel operators. Over three days, it will be possible to discover all the latest innovations presented by the leading players in the sector and the growing trends in innovation serving business, from Cloud Computing to the business-enabled opportunities provided by the latest generation Tablets and Smartphones.
And here is what visitors to Smau 2011 can expect:
•   Smau Business, at Pavilion 4 of Fieramilanocity, which will bring together more than 250 exhibiting companies among the leading sector players and their ecosystem of business partners, offering over 25,000 expected managers from various company functions—not only IT but also Marketing and Sales, Administration and Finance, Logistics, Purchasing, Human Resources, Designers—more than 300 appointments including awards, workshops, training sessions, and labs on the most current topics regarding modern business technologies.
Among this year’s trends at the center of the training and exhibition offerings will be Cloud Computing and Tablets for business, with a specific focus on the benefits enabled by devices, technologies, and services that will revolutionize our way of working. Visitors will find numerous new products, such as Olipad, Olivetti’s new tablet, and an area hosting the best smartphone app developers. Among other ICT giants present focusing on Cloud is IBM which, again this year, together with its partners, will offer a series of advanced solutions to meet new business needs: from Business Intelligence and Business Analytics proposals, to Smarter Commerce software, to technologies and services to make the most out of cloud computing environments.
•   Smau Trade, instead, at Pavilion 3, with over 300 exhibitors active in this area featuring numerous new products and more than 200 dedicated events, will be the most important meeting point for those working in the ICT Community, this year even richer in content, contests, and networking opportunities among major technology suppliers and distributors, the hardware and software reseller world, VARs, ISVs, and participating System Integrators. The event will attract over 20,000 operators and will include initiatives aimed partly at ICT distribution channel operators and partly at those who create, integrate, and customize application software.
Addressing both, among the new features present at the fair, is Telecom Italia’s IT – IS (Information Technology Impresa Semplice) Program, the first distribution system of IT Solutions and Web Services dedicated to SMEs, aimed at fostering their development and competitiveness by supporting them in adopting innovative technologies such as Cloud Computing. Telecom Italia will be present at SMAU to illustrate the IT – IS Program and to further expand its network of Agencies and IT Consultants which, since its launch in March this year, has already exceeded several hundred affiliations.
Another player targeting the channel world is Intel which, through its Intel Technology Provider Program, will offer training sessions dedicated to professionals with a calendar of training and updating moments aimed at accompanying the channel world in that indispensable evolution today to better interpret the needs of the business and public administration markets.
