We will have to wait until 2011 for Firefox 4: the news comes directly from the Mozilla community via an official note. Some slight shifts in the release dates of the various beta versions will culminate in Firefox 4 in a few months, in early 2011.
September should have brought beta 7, which has however been rescheduled for release in November. From here, understandably, there is a succession of the calendar slightly shifted forward for the following releases, up to beta 10, expected in December. After that, the “Release Candidate” is expected in early 2011 and – finally – Firefox 4 in its final version can be released.
The community can be reassured: the new roadmap is not the result of problems but only a necessary rescheduling, due to a greater workload, perhaps underestimated initially or more likely due to the resolution of some bugs.
