RIM presents the new BlackBerry Bold 9900, a smartphone aesthetically characterized by its very slim dimensions. Various innovations also in terms of operating system and specifications.
BlackBerry Bold 9900 is one of five new smartphones from RIM, arriving from the end of August. In just a couple of weeks, the device will be physically available in all stores, while for online stores, we note pre-orders on the Vodafone UK Store, allowing purchase as early as August 16th.
At first glance, the BlackBerry Bold 9900 immediately stands out for its reduced dimensions: it is, in fact, the thinnest smartphone model RIM had ever produced and launched into the market.
The screen is a 2.8″ capacitive touchscreen LCD TFT with 640×480 resolution, it has a 5 Megapixel camera that also allows video recording (720p), an optical trackpad, and a QWERTY keyboard.
Internal memory is 8 GB, expandable up to 32 GB via microSD. RAM is 728 MB and, regarding the processor, it’s 1.2 GHz.
Connectivity is ensured by Bluetooth 2.1+EDR and Dual-Band Wi-Fi – 802.11 b/g/n at 2.4 GHz and 802.11 a/n at 5 GHz, equipped with a 3.5mm audio jack and micro-USB 2.0.
The operating system is the brand new RIM BlackBerry OS 7, based on speed and fluidity for web content consumption, for a complete mobile experience.
