The Alcatel OT-990 is the Android smartphone from Alcatel’s One Touch line that stands out for its good equipment at a rather affordable price.
Alcatel OT-990 is one of the latest additions to the One Touch series. It features a range of interesting functions and characteristics, although its biggest drawback lies in the fact that the processor is quite basic: it’s a 600 MHz processor that is nevertheless more than sufficient to support the multimedia capabilities of the Alcatel OT-990.
The chosen operating system is Android Froyo 2.2, and for sharing and connectivity, it utilizes UMTS, Wi-Fi, and Bluetooth.
Several applications are already pre-loaded to facilitate the use of major social networks, such as the Facebook app, Twitter, YouTube, and Picasa.
The screen is a 3.5-inch TFT with Capacitive Touch Screen technology, displaying up to 256,000 colors.
Alcatel OT-990 features a 5-megapixel camera with an integrated LED flash and autofocus. It is also capable of recording WVGA videos at 30 fps.
Included in the package is a 2 GB microSD card, very useful for storing photos, videos, and music files; the latter can be played back thanks to the multimedia player.
The 1300 mAh battery is noteworthy, ensuring more than adequate battery life.
Finally, the price of the Alcatel OT-990 is decidedly affordable, considering its good technical specifications and its solid, rounded, and well-crafted exterior design: the Alcatel OT-990 can be purchased for approximately 180 euros, even less by taking advantage of some promotions.
