Universal mobile phone chargers on sale since 2010

Starting in 2010, the mobile phone charger revolution begins: terminal manufacturing companies and the EU are in agreement on the widespread adoption of universal chargers.

A single common input for all and a single cable equipped with MicroUsb to recharge the battery of any brand of mobile phone. Apple, Nokia, Motorola, Nec, Lg, Samsung, Research in Motion, Texas Instruments, and Sony Ericsson are the main players in this production and commercial revolution, and this is not surprising as they represent the largest market share in the telephony sector, with a 90% production presence.

EU Commissioner Guenter Verheugen commented: “Consumers will not need to buy a new charger with every mobile phone, they will be able to charge their mobile phone with the new universal charger.”
This seems to be the first step to extend this convenient innovation to other devices such as camcorders, cameras, PDAs, netbooks, and the like.
