Facebook Dating is a dedicated space, activated on request, within the Facebook app. Creating your profile is quick and easy. With Facebook Dating, it’s simpler to show who you really are while getting to know others more authentically.
What Can You Do With Facebook Dating?
Create Stories with Facebook Dating
Stories on Facebook Dating offer the chance to share everyday life moments, showcasing your passions and discovering others who share them. If you choose to share your Facebook and Instagram Stories on your Dating profile, you can reveal who you are beyond words and get to know others better, both before and after a match.

Facebook Dating: Secret Crush
The Secret Crush feature allows you to discover potential partners among people you are already friends with on Facebook or Instagram. By default, Facebook Dating will not suggest your Facebook friends as potential matches, but if you choose to use the Secret Crush feature, you can select up to 9 people you are interested in from your Facebook or Instagram contacts.
A match will only occur if you are also added to the Secret Crush list of one of the contacts you’ve selected. However, if one of the contacts you added to your Secret Crush does not have a Dating profile, has not created a Secret Crush list, or hasn’t added you to theirs, they will never know you selected them.

Facebook Dating: Events and Groups
If you choose to add your Facebook Events and Groups to Dating, you can connect with other people who share similar interests. For example, if you are interested in animal lovers, you can see who else on Dating is part of groups dedicated to four-legged friends that you are also a member of.

Facebook Dating: Video Dates
Once you’ve matched on Dating, you’re ready to start a video call. A feature allows you to initiate a video call with your match by clicking the video icon in the chat. Before accessing the video call, the person will receive an invitation notification, and if they accept, you can start getting to know each other better. Your name and Dating profile picture will be displayed as soon as the video call begins.

Facebook Dating: Privacy
Searching for a partner is an extremely personal matter, which is why Dating prioritizes people’s safety and privacy. Within Facebook Dating, you’ll find quick access to safety tips and built-in protective mechanisms, including the ability to report and block anyone and to prohibit people from sending photos, links, payments, or videos in messages. Your current Facebook friends will not be suggested as potential partners, nor will they be notified of your presence on Dating. Your Dating profile, messages, and the people you are interested in or have interacted with on Dating will not appear on your Facebook News Feed.
