Vodafone Italia Foundation has decided to allocate €5.8 million to social projects for the 2016/2017 fiscal year.
On the occasion of the Vodafone Foundation’s Board of Directors meeting, new council members were appointed, and Enrico Resmini, Ultrabroadband, Wholesale, and Strategy Director at Vodafone Italia, was elected President.
Enrico Resmini succeeds Alex Zanardi, who after leading the Vodafone Foundation for 3 years, joins the Scientific Committee of the Vodafone Foundation. There, he will contribute to the development of investment strategies, as well as the selection and evaluation of projects that the Vodafone Foundation will support.
The Scientific Committee, coordinated by Antonio Bernardi, is enriched, alongside Alex Zanardi, by a new authoritative external representative: Carmela Elita Schillaci, Full Professor of Business Economics and Management at the University of Catania, an expert in entrepreneurship, innovation, and high-tech. The roles of the other Scientific Committee members have been confirmed: Simonetta Matone (Deputy Attorney General of the Republic at the Court of Appeal of Rome), Juan Carlos de Martin (University Professor and columnist for La Repubblica), Paola Severino (jurist, former Minister of Justice), Luciano Violante (University Professor, former President of the Chamber of Deputies).
The new Board of Directors comprises representatives from Vodafone Italia’s management. Maria Cristina Ferradini, confirmed as Managing Director, and the following council members: Alessandra Antonelli, Augusto Bandera, Silvia de Blasio, Donatella Isaia, Gianluca Marini, Quang Ngo Dinh, and Costanza Tarola.
From 2002 to date, Vodafone Italia Foundation has invested approximately €85 million in social service and solidarity activities for the community, particularly for disadvantaged individuals, supporting over 400 projects nationwide. Always attentive to the growing demand for social innovation from the non-profit sector, Vodafone Italia Foundation is committed to promoting digital inclusion within the Third Sector.
