Nokia is about to kick off the Nokia World 2011 event: there is much curiosity and anticipation regarding the possible presentation of the new Nokia Windows Phones.
The date October 26, 2011, may become a historic one for Nokia: the brand’s relaunch, particularly in the smartphone sector, undoubtedly hinges on these numbers on the calendar.
Indeed, Nokia World 2011 will take place, an event for presenting new products that have been talked about for some time but without significant clarifying previews.
It seems that the moment has truly arrived to see the first Nokia devices equipped with the Windows Phone operating system, one of which could be the Nokia 800 we discussed some time ago, but which – according to Nokia’s press office – was just an unfounded rumor.
Will it really be so? Are there other Nokia smartphone models ready for commercialization, just in time for the Christmas sales?
After all, why organize such a high-profile and far-reaching event if not to unveil something rather significant?
Hypotheses are piling up, and some are even starting to calculate the market share Windows Phone could gain in 2012, counting on the release of Nokia smartphones: Strategy Analytics predicts a 12.3% penetration of these devices in Europe, one of the primary markets where they will be introduced.
This means an estimated doubling: a truly significant result if confirmed.
