Sony announces a special offer for the Sony Tablet S, focusing more on content than price, likely in anticipation of holiday sales given the deadline of December 31, 2011.
That the tablet market is experiencing an unprecedented phase of dynamism is clear to everyone: whether it’s the widespread adoption of the device itself, or the release of Kindle Fire at a particularly low price compared to most tablets, even Sony has decided to further incentivize the purchase of the Sony Tablet S.
Evidently unable to compete much on price, Sony has decided to focus on content, allowing those who purchase a Sony Tablet S by December 31, 2011, to benefit from some free applications which, in turn, grant access to exclusive content.
The application from “Il Sole 24 Ore” will indeed be made available for free download via the Android Market on tablets purchased in Italy and, once available, will provide direct access to articles, news, and in-depth analysis from the newspaper.
Not just information, but also video games: two classic titles from the Sony catalog have been pre-installed in their full versions. These are Pinball Heroes and Crash Bandicoot.
So, while there are no price adjustments planned – at least for now – the focus is on offering content, aiming to entice purchases with some extra apps.
Let’s briefly recall that the 16 GB model has a price of 479 euros, while the 32 GB version costs 579 euros.
The promotion is valid for purchases made both in-store and on the Sony online store.
