Mail Defender, aimed at SMEs, professionals, and private citizens, is developed in collaboration with Swascan, a company of Tinexta Cyber, the Italian cybersecurity hub.

Mail Defender guarantees users continuous monitoring of their email accounts – traditional or certified – regardless of the provider, and signals any theft and fraudulent exposure of related credentials through dedicated monthly reports. This way, owners, aware of what has happened, can act accordingly and take appropriate countermeasures. In case of compromise incidents, possible Remediation actions are also suggested. Mail Defender is fully available online at a maximum cost of 1 euro + VAT per month per mailbox (with an annual fee).

It should be noted that the service, based on Swascan’s proprietary technology, constantly searches, selects, and analyzes a vast list of sources present not only in the public domain of the web but also in the “closed” environments of the Deep and Dark Web.

The dimension of the threat is evidenced by the data: according to the “Clusit 2021 Report on ICT Security in Italy,” BEC (Business Email Compromise) and EAC (Email Account Compromise) attacks were the main crime in 2020, causing losses of over 1.8 billion dollars (FBI, “2020 Internet Crime Report”), equivalent to 44% of all losses suffered by companies and consumers in that year.
