The 20TB MG10 Series features HDDs that utilize a 10-platter helium design and leverage Toshiba’s innovative Flux Control Microwave Assisted Magnetic Recording (FC-MAMR) technology to increase storage capacities.

With 11.1% more capacity than the previous 18TB model, the 20TB MG10 Series HDDs are compatible with most applications and operating systems and are suited for mixed random and sequential read/write workloads in both cloud-scale and traditional data center use cases. These drives boast 7,200 rpm performance, a workload rating of 550 TB per year, and the choice of SATA or SAS interface – all within an energy-efficient, industry-standard 3.5-inch, helium-filled form factor.

The 20TB Series further demonstrates Toshiba’s commitment to continuously improving HDD design to meet the evolving needs of storage devices in cloud-scale servers and object and file storage infrastructures. With increased power efficiency and higher capacity, the 20TB MG10 Series will help improve the storage density of cloud-scale installations, thereby reducing CAPEX while enhancing the total cost of ownership (TCO). As data growth continues at an impressive pace, the innovative 20TB MG10 HDDs with FC-MAMRâ„¢ technology will help cloud-scale service providers and storage solution designers achieve higher storage densities for cloud, hybrid-cloud, and on-premise rack storage.
