ASUS VivoWatch is about to arrive on major markets, entirely dedicated to sports enthusiasts.
ASUS is about to launch its new smartwatch model, the name of which has already been made official. It will be the ASUS VivoWatch, a wearable device specifically designed for those who engage in physical activity.
The presentation event took place during Milan Design Week, and until then, it had been quite difficult to glean any further details beyond those deliberately leaked by the company itself.
In fact, up to the very moment of the presentation, nothing had been revealed about the operating system on which the ASUS VivoWatch would run, nor were technical specifications about the display or available functionalities known.
The only detail “}$,{,},%{,}%{,}%}” touted” by ASUS concerned the promised battery life, evidently a topic that could make a difference compared to the competition.
ASUS has indeed released a statement promising up to 10 days of battery life before needing a full recharge, considering full smartwatch usage. This is decidedly a surprising figure for the “longevity” promised to runners and sports enthusiasts.
Indeed, it was later confirmed that the ASUS VivoWatch will not support Android but will feature a proprietary operating system.
As for the display, it will have a screen with a resolution of 128Ă—128 pixels, and the images will not be in color; this will ensure a certain battery saving.
Connectivity will be based on the Bluetooth 4.0 module, and regarding its overall appearance, the ASUS VivoWatch will come with a classic 22-millimeter strap. Having been designed for use in active and sports contexts, the smartwatch has received IP67 certification for its steel body, making it resistant to dust and water.
