A revolution is coming to Twitter: from today, you can interact even more with your followers.
A unique feature has been activated on the microblogging-based social network: it is now possible to retweet, accompanying it with a comment.
In theory, the exchange will become more “engaging,” so to speak, considering that in addition to retweeting a sentence, an image, or a link, you can also add your own opinion.
In total, the space reserved for the comment will be 116 characters, following the retweet text: almost a double tweet, in short.
Until today, however, the maximum total space of 140 characters has always been strictly enforced; a sign that they are evidently trying to accommodate the requests of subscribers who have repeatedly asked for more space to comment on retweets.
This novelty comes after months of testing on selected accounts and has been made available in recent hours for the web version – thus from PC – and for the iOS app version.
There is still no trace of an update in this regard for the app running on Android devices, which, however, will be affected by this novelty very shortly, with a dedicated upgrade being released.
Twitter is undoubtedly making a series of changes and integrations to its usual user interaction mechanisms, especially in recent months.
It is probably necessary to provide subscribers with tools that can connect them more and more easily, otherwise, there’s a risk of a decline in appeal and traffic on the platform itself.
