The new Lumia 640 XL smartphone is also arriving in Italy, with a mid-to-low range price.
Microsoft announces the start of sales also in Italy of the Lumia 640 XL, a new smartphone.
The “XL” indication in the terminal’s name immediately suggests generous screen dimensions, and indeed the display is large: it’s a 5.7-inch HD type, using IPS LCD technology. The resolution is 1280×720, at 16:9, with 294 PPI; its composition is Glance screen Corning Gorilla Glass 3.
As for the rest of the hardware, the presence of a 1.2 GHz dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor and 1 GB of RAM is noteworthy. Internal memory is 8 GB, expandable via an optional microSD card up to a maximum of 128 GB. Microsoft also provides cloud storage through the free OneDrive service.
The operating system is Windows Phone 8.1, pre-installed with the Lumia Denim update, complete with Action Center, Word Flow, and Live Folders. Microsoft does, however, state that it will be possible to update the Lumia 640 XL with Windows 10 features as soon as the update is available, tentatively by the end of the current year.
Regarding the camera department, a main 13-megapixel camera with AutoFocus, LED Flash, and Lumia Camera is highlighted; the front camera is instead 5 Megapixels.
The removable 3000 mAh battery concludes the package.
The price of the Lumia 640 XL is 209, as recommended by Microsoft.
