Whispers suggest an upcoming release from Nokia: the Sirius tablet.
Rumors emerging from the tech news outlet The Verge suggest upcoming news from Nokia, likely to be unveiled soon.
Apparently, the Finnish company is ready to launch a new device on the market: a tablet, to be precise. The codename – which will likely be its official name – is expected to be Sirius, and the tablet’s aesthetics and functionality are said to heavily resemble the Lumia series smartphones.
Some information about its technical specifications is also circulating: the screen is rumored to be 10.1 inches Full HD, with a resolution of 1920Ă—1080 pixels. It might feature two cameras: a 6-megapixel main camera and a 2-megapixel front camera.
Regarding the tablet’s internals, it is expected to have 2 GB of RAM, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor, and, naturally, the Windows 8.1 RT operating system.
Concerning the price, it is speculated to be positioned in the high-end tablet market, making it a direct competitor to Apple’s iPad. If all these details are confirmed, we might learn more by the end of September. Microsoft has scheduled a press event for September 26th to unveil the company’s latest offerings, and the Sirius tablet might also make its debut shortly after.
