Apparently, it will soon be possible to use the “Dislike” on Facebook. The company is still evaluating the introduction of the functionality.
Another innovation is reportedly coming to the social sharing platform Facebook: according to some insider rumors, the “Dislike” button is about to arrive.
This is an addition of no small significance that could finally give vent to dissenting voices. If users are too lazy to leave a comment, they could express their unfavorable opinion towards someone or something using a “Dislike”.
The anticipation of the upcoming installation of the “Dislike” button comes primarily from the US network AbcNews. Therefore, official confirmation from Facebook’s management is still lacking, as they are evidently not yet aligned or fully convinced on this topic.
The request for such a button is certainly not new from the social network’s regular users; however, the decision to introduce this functionality is less trivial than it might appear.
We must consider the mass effect that expressing disapproval can have, something that perhaps until today has discouraged many from expressing themselves freely because a negative expression would have entailed writing a comment.
Not everyone likes to expose themselves without anonymity, and a button – quick to press and perceived as “lighter” – might remove this sort of psychological “barrier”.
In any case, we will have to wait a few more weeks to know if, indeed, the “Dislike” will be added to Facebook’s functionalities.
