A few days ago, Sony unveiled its new gaming project, showcasing the appearance and features of PlayStation 4.
Much anticipated for several months, Sony’s new console will be released in all specialized stores and will also arrive at major retailers during the coming winter, certainly in time to be included in the lists of gifts for Christmas 2013.
It is therefore presumed that Sony PlayStation 4 will reach Italian shelves as early as November.
The first detail to mention – as this is always a matter close to the heart of those considering switching to the new model – is the reassurance from Sony executives regarding the compatibility of old Blu-ray Disc games.
Another important point concerns connectivity: being online will not be mandatory to use PlayStation 4.
Regarding the purely technical details, Sony reports that the console hides a powerful heart: a custom chip containing eight x86-64 cores and a next-generation 1.84 TFLOPS graphics processor with 8 GB of ultra-fast GDDR5 unified system memory.
All of this is enclosed in a design that reduces bulk but does not skimp on essentiality and elegance, with satin details contrasting with glossy ones, as can be seen from the photo accompanying this article.
Naturally, the detail that is probably most prominent for new products of this kind is always the price: Sony surprises positively once again and promises that the price of PlayStation 4 will not exceed 399 dollars, due to a precise cost containment policy for buyers.
