**Xbox One** is the next **console** to be released by **Microsoft**: not just a gaming station but a very rich all-in-one system.

There was a lot of anticipation for the presentation of the Xbox of the future and finally, a few hours ago, Microsoft revealed the features of Xbox One.
It is not just and simply a product for gaming, as one might think, but it is in fact an all-in-one system that integrates games, television, and all the potential of web viewing.
To switch from one mode to another, all you have to do is speak to the console: just say “Xbox On” to give the input for powering on and from here – on the main summary screen – you can decide what to do, choosing between the possibility of starting a game, watching TV, or viewing other content.
However, one functionality will not exclude the other: it will indeed be possible to activate “snap” mode to play and at the same time continue watching – for example – a TV show.
Speaking of TV series, the launch of Xbox One will also bring the release of “Halo”: the famous videogame becomes a TV series, under the direction of Steven Spielberg as executive producer of a project that will not be based exclusively on “classic” TV drama formats but will also introduce interactive elements to the narrative.
Regarding the “physical” use of the console, there will naturally also be a new Kinect, even more responsive and precise, according to the previews provided by Don Mattrick.
In reality, without Kinect, the new Xbox One will not be able to function, so the company has decided to sell the console bundled with the accessory.
Among the innovations related to Kinect, is the ability to play even in the dark: in this case, infrared rays come into play, effectively replacing the powerful camera, capable of processing movements for over 2 GB of data per second.
Kinect will also process sounds, managing to isolate game sounds from those of the player and the surrounding environment, and also “listening” even when the Xbox One is off.
The integrated camera also becomes an ally when you don’t intend to use games or TV: it is indeed suitable for calls and video calls via Skype, now owned by Microsoft and therefore perfectly integrated into the new products.
As for the purely technical features, the Xbox One will be equipped with an 8-core CPU, a 500 GB hard drive, 8 GB of RAM, Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi 802.11n, USB 3.0, Gigabit Ethernet, and a Blu-ray player.
From a purely design perspective, the Xbox One will be presented in a total black finish, with a sharp but elegant profile, as can be seen from the presentation video created by Microsoft, at the end of this article.
No sale price or precise release date has been revealed, but it is hypothesized that the new console will be available for purchase in early 2014, provided that the ‘turbo’ is not engaged and it is decided to release the product in time for Christmas shopping.
