Apple has also reserved news for the iPod family: here are the features of the new iPod nano and iPod Touch, with prices.
During the event Apple on Wednesday, September 12, the discussion was not only about iPhone 5 but also about the iPod.
family. Indeed, there are updates in this area as well, starting with the new iPod Touch, equipped with a 4-inch Retina display with a resolution of 1136 x 640 pixels.
The overall thickness is only 6 millimeters with a weight of 88 grams, all enclosed in a colored anodized aluminum body in red, black, yellow, gray, pink, blue or green.
The camera is a 5-megapixel iSight with autofocus, also suitable for recording 1080p videos.
The processor in the new iPod Touch is the dual-core Apple A5, while the operating system is iOS6, so Siri can also be used.
Just like the new iPhone, the iPod Touch will also feature the new EarPods headphones and, also among the accessories included in the package, there is a strap matching the case color, useful for carrying the iPod Touch on the wrist.
Regarding the new iPod Nano, the difference from its predecessor seems huge, since the square mini shape of the 2010 version has been replaced by a new elongated shape, very similar to the earlier models of the past.
The Apple company has defined it as the thinnest iPod ever, and indeed its thickness is only 5 millimeters.
Note the presence of the home button on the front face, while all other buttons (for adjusting the volume, for starting playback or for skipping songs) are positioned along the side edges.
The new iPod Nano features Bluetooth technology to listen to tracks even without earphones, FM radio, fitness functions and a pedometer: the target seems to be athletes.
Again, several colors are available: purple, pink, green, yellow, blue, slate, and silver.
In the case of both theiPod Nanoand theiPod Touchthe connector is 19-pin, like the new iPhone 5.
As for the prices, here is the summary table:
