Nokia Lumia 920 is the smartphone on which Nokia is betting heavily, among the models just presented at IFA in Berlin. Here are the features, pending knowledge of the selling price.
A few days before the start of IFA 2012 in Berlin, Nokia also took the opportunity to present the novelties of its range, focusing heavily on the new Nokia Lumia 920 smartphone.
It is undoubtedly the company’s flagship model at the moment, with which this device opens the doors to the new Windows Phone 8 operating system.
The processor is a 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4: a quad-core was probably expected, given the emerging standards in the sector, however Nokia explained that this processor allows for about 30% energy savings, so it was preferred to economize in this regard.
Another strength that has been much talked about in recent weeks is the introduction of Nokia PureView imaging technology: the camera of the Nokia Lumia 920 is indeed capable of capturing up to 5 times more light compared to the cameras of other smartphones, providing professional results for photos and videos.
Even the screen could not have been improved: it is a 4.5-inch display with a resolution of 1280×768 pixels that uses PureMotion HD+ technology.
Very colorful – it will be available in red, yellow, white, black, and gray – and slim, the Nokia Lumia 920 confirms another feature that has been rumored in recent days: the device is indeed capable of being recharged wirelessly.
Simply placing the smartphone on an induction dock will start charging the battery.
Speaking of the battery, it comes with a 2000mAh unit: this is the first time a Nokia phone has had so much power.
Regarding noteworthy pre-loaded apps, the presence of Nokia Maps – which also works offline – and Nokia City Lens for augmented reality is highlighted.
The price of the Nokia Lumia 920 is not yet known, but as soon as this information becomes available, along with the release date, we will discuss it again.
