The Sony PRS-T2, the new 6-inch ebook reader whose price is already known, is also arriving in Italy.
Sony is back in the ebook reader sector in Italy, launching the new Sony PRS-T2.
It is a device with a 6-inch display with a touchscreen E-ink Pearl touch with a resolution of 600×800 pixels.
Looking closely, we can confidently say that the new ebook reader is none other than the successor to the Sony PRS-T1, from which it inherits practically almost everything.
An evolution or an update, call it what you will.
Worthy of note is the long battery life promised, definitely long-lasting: about 60 days (8 weeks) of operation with Wi-Fi turned off. If, however, you leave Wi-Fi activated, the performance will be about 6 weeks.
As for its memory, we find 2 GB integrated (in simple terms, this means it can ‘hold’ about 1200 ebooks), expandable using a microSD up to 32 GB: plenty of space for your ebooks.
The accepted formats are ePub, PDF, and TXT, and the image rendering is quite appreciable, as this new ebook reader reads JPEG, PNG, GIF, and BMP files.
As for its dimensions and weight, the Sony PRS-T2 measures 110 x 173 x 9.1 millimeters, weighing 164 grams in total.
The new Sony PRS-T2 has a price of €158.99 including VAT, while it was offered for a lower price on the US market: around $130.
As for availability in Italy, it is already possible to pre-order the ebook reader – including on Sony’s website – but shipments will begin at the start of September.
