Google makes the Chrome application available for iPhone and iPad: a download boom on the App Store within hours of the app’s appearance.
There are really many new things from Google these days and not all of them concern new devices: alongside the announcement of the upcoming sale of the Google Nexus 7 and the Nexus Q, here comes also a new application.
On the App Store the application of Chrome for iPhone e iPad: the browsing browser from Mountain View crosses the thresholds of iOS, with initial signs of satisfaction from users.
In just a few hours, in fact, the newly arrived application recorded numerous downloads, so much so that it was propelled to the top of the most downloaded apps chart.
Although you can use the Chrome app for iPhone and iPad, it is necessary to have an Apple device equipped with at least version 4.3 of iOS.
Regarding the features of Chrome for iPhone or iPad, from a graphic point of view there is a lot of adherence to the browser developed by Google as one is used to seeing it in the desktop version.
It is interesting to note that this app allows browsing in anonymous mode (with the “Incognito” function), so as not to release specific information online.
Fully active is the synchronization of history and bookmarks on other devices and naturally it is possible to perform quick searches on Google, also in voice mode.
A “downgrade” is reported compared to the Android and various desktop versions of Chrome: the iOS version is not equipped with a JavaScript engine. The reason is simple: Apple does not allow its use, so developers had to opt for WebKit, which fully complies with the rules of the App Store system.
Chrome for iPhone e iPad cannot be set as the default browser but, despite this, users are continuing to download it: Safari and Opera – the only two browsers available for iOS until now – have a new rival.
