PlayStation Vita: Vodafone’s launch offer

PlayStation Vita 3G/Wi-Fi will be on sale in Italy starting from February 22nd. For its launch, Sony Computer Entertainment has decided to strike a deal with Vodafone, in order to offer a “complete package” that tightly links the gaming experience to the online connectivity features offered by PlayStation Vita.
This way, even those without a fixed connection or those away from home will be able to fully use Sony’s brand-new gaming console.
The PlayStation Vita will be available at Vodafone stores at the price of 19 euros per month, including internet access, according to two plan options to choose from:

• Subscription:
  with an initial fee of 49 euros (free until March 31, 2012 due to a promotion that may be extended) and 19 euros per month (24-month contract), you will get the device plus 1 GB of internet per month without time or hourly restrictions, browsing at 1.8 Mbps. Once the 1 GB threshold is exceeded, you can still browse unlimited but at 64 kbps.
• Pay-as-you-go:
  inside the PlayStation Vita package there will be a Vodafone SIM with 5 euros of prepaid traffic. You can also use an already activated SIM card; the choice is at your discretion.
  In the case of a new SIM, you will be entitled to free activation and navigation at 1 euro per day, a fee charged only if you actually connect. You can browse without time limits, even continuously for 24 hours, for a total of 300 MB up to 7.2 Mbps; after this threshold, you can continue browsing but at 64 Kbps.
  For this option, there is a monthly fee to enable renewal, priced at 5 euros.
  If you already have a previously purchased and active SIM, Vodafone recommends activating the Internet Auto-recharge option to gain 5 euros of data traffic for every 15 euro recharge made on that phone number.

Whether choosing the subscription or using a new Vodafone SIM Card, you will receive a gift download of WipeOut 2048, a racing game.
