Acer unveiled its new Acer Iconia Tab A700 at CES 2012, a tablet that leads its category and ushers in the era of quad-core microprocessor devices.
The operating system chosen for the launch of the Acer Iconia Tab A700 is Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, meaning there will be no need for operating system updates after purchase, unlike what is increasingly common for smartphones.
Although official information is still limited, we can anticipate that the processor is an Nvidia Tegra 3 clocked at 1.3 GHz.
The display often plays a key role for tablets, and in this case, there’s plenty to be satisfied about: we are looking at a 10.1-inch Full HD display (1920×1200 pixel resolution).
The overall thickness of the Acer Iconia Tab A700 is only 9.8 millimeters, making it decidedly sleek with a refined and elegant design.
The Acer Iconia Tab A700 is equipped with Bluetooth 3.0, 3G, Wifi, GPS, and features a microSD card slot and an HDMI port.
The main camera is 5 Megapixels, the secondary is 2 Megapixels, and the audio system boasts Dolby features.
Not much else is known about the Acer Iconia Tab A700 other than that it might be released in the second quarter of 2012 at a price not yet official but likely to be in the mid-to-high range.
The presentation at CES was therefore a sort of appetizer, a small taste in anticipation of more detailed official communications.
