Online used car ads are multiplying in Italy as well. This sector seems to be appreciated by the average consumer, also according to a recent ranking published by Forbes.

Choosing a car is not easy, buying a new model certainly attracts the consumer, but at the same time, used cars are a better deal, both in terms of price and depreciation which the new model suffers as soon as it leaves the dealership and during the first years of ownership even if the usage has been moderate or low.
Thanks to a study by JD Power & Associates U.S. Vehicle Dependability Study, Forbes has published a list of the best used car models. The research was conducted on 43,700 cars with the same owner since 2008, thus vehicles that have been used for three years. The models featured are those that achieved the best results in overall reliability; in particular, different scores were assigned to the cars based on analyses of the so-called “powertrain,” examining the engine, transmission, steering, and suspension, all accompanied by assessments of the size and comfort of the various models.
The list shows us 14 vehicles: General Motors is present with two models, Chevrolet Tahoe and GMC Yukon, just like Honda, represented by the Honda CR-V and Honda Fit. For luxury cars, we find Mercedes and Toyota, respectively with the models: Mercedes-Benz CLK coupé or convertible and Lexus RX 350 crossover; for Toyota, the list continues with Scion xB, Sienna, and Tundra. Ford is present with four models: Fusion, Mercury Milan, Lincoln MKZ, and Edge; Mazda remains present but with only one model, the MX-5 Miata.
In Italy, the used car market is increasingly broad, also thanks to the presence of online listings, which allow saving brokerage costs and enable personal meetings with the car owner, but without giving up the choice; the models available are many, starting from the used Fiat, the brands and models present are varied, Ford, Smart, Audi, and BMW just to name a few.
The Forbes article also ends with the classic advice that remains the most useful: buying a used car always involves some level of risk, the best way to eliminate it is to have the vehicle checked by a trusted mechanic.
