Acer announces the acquisition of iGware, thus aiming for development in the cloud direction. The future looks very focused on expanding the Acer Cloud project significantly.

Acer has announced the official acquisition of iGware, a company specializing in cloud architectures and already serving multiple businesses, such as Nintendo, to name just one.
Currently, technicians are already working on the full integration of Acer services – already launched on stable paths with the Acer Cloud project – with those of iGware, which in turn already has around 100 million active devices.
Presumably, within the first six months of 2012, the Acer cloud system will be ready and can be used not only via PC but also via phone and tablet, as stated by J.T. Wang, Chairman and CEO of Acer: “Acer Cloud’s goal is to allow our users to use devices, content, and resources simply and immediately, enabling easy integration of all Acer products (PCs, tablets, and smartphones) within a secure and protected environment”.
Therefore, the dialogue between the “cloud,” software, and hardware needs to be structured, based on what the American company iGware already does.
Regarding the strictly economic terms of the acquisition, the purchase price is reported to be 320 million dollars disbursed by Acer.
Furthermore, there could be other future revenues for iGware, in the event of the successful practical application of the cloud conceived in sync by the two companies.
