What not to miss
Presentation of the Chief Innovation Officers Study 2019, the first Italian study on the topic, carried out jointly by the University of Pavia and StartupItalia, seeks to answer the most common questions about the role, diffusion and strategic relevance of those managers with the highest responsibility for innovation processes in the company.
Who are the “Chief Innovation Officers” (CInO)? What do they do, exactly? Are they inventors, architects of innovation or maybe… 'pirates'? Are they a passing fad or a critical success factor for companies?
The first Italian study on the subject, carried out jointly by the University of Pavia and StartupItalia, seeks to answer these and other questions about the role, diffusion and strategic relevance of managers with the highest responsibility for innovation processes in companies.
After the first preliminary results on public data released in September 2019, this second phase of the research offers a more in-depth picture of the background, stories and results of CInOs in Italy, thanks to a representative sample of 155 managers, with roles of this type, consulted through interviews and questionnaires.
Some data on the relevance of the sample: these 155 CInOs – all together – coordinate 4,443 'innovation people'. The companies represented had a total turnover of 114 billion euros in 2018 (equivalent to the GDP of half of Finland, more than the GDP of the whole of Kuwait). The unpublished results of this second phase – from which some confirmations and many surprises emerge – will be presented for the first time on 16 December 2019 on the occasion of #SIOS2019.
Presentation of data of StartupItalia regarding the number of rounds, investments, and impact on jobs that have affected Italian startups in the last 12 months. The top 100 best Italian startups will be revealed, as well as the best overall, chosen by a jury of 100 jurors. The European finals of the Startup World Cup organized by Pegasus Venture will also be held within StartupItalia Open Summit.
Presentation of the AlmaLaurea 2018 research on the growth data of the female gender in the STEM sector.
Compared to 15 years ago, women graduating in STEM subjects at the bachelor's degree today have quintupled (16,848 versus 3,398 in 2004). With work and wages the gender gap begins.
How is the world of work changing with technology? Using it to our advantage instead of being afraid of it will be the heart of the meeting with Corrado Passera founder of illimity and former Minister and Luciano Floridi Professor of philosophy and ethics of information and Director of the Digital Ethics Lab at Oxford University.
