In Barcelona, events within the World Mobile Congress 2013 program continue and Sony has taken the opportunity to present its new tablet, called „Sony Xperia Tablet Z„.
The screen is 10.1 inches and is an LED-backlit LCD with a resolution of 1200×1920 pixels.
Certainly, when it comes to tablets, this is the first element that stands out, as usability depends precisely on the surface on which the user will act.
Regarding the hardware related to the performance of the new Sony tablet, it features a 1.5 GHz quad-core Snapdragon APQ8064 processor with 2 GB of RAM. Internal memory is offered in 16 GB and 32 GB versions, but more storage can be made available via microSD cards.
The native operating system for the Sony Xperia Tablet Z is Android 4.2 Jelly Bean, and regarding connectivity, there is a choice between models with LTE network support or those with 3G and Wi-Fi support.
Also noteworthy are the two cameras: the main one, housed on the back of the tablet’s body, is 8 megapixels and features autofocus and digital zoom. It is also capable of recording Full HD videos at 1080p.
As for the front camera, useful for video calls but not only, it is 2.2 megapixels and also allows for Full HD video recording.
Completing the specifications of this tablet is the 6000 mAh battery which, according to Sony’s statements, would keep the tablet active for 10 hours of full use or for 1270 hours in standby.
The price of the Sony Xperia Tablet Z will be 499 euros for the 16 GB version and 599 euros for the 32 GB version.
The release of this new Sony-branded tablet is expected for the second quarter of 2013.
