IAB Forum 2016: New Guests Revealed

IAB Italia, now in its fourteenth edition, reveals the guests for IAB Forum 2016, which will be held on November 29 and 30, 2016 at MiCo (Milan Congressi). National and international guests, all under the banner of “limitless,” will discuss the present and future of the digital world, offering food for thought on market trends, creative insights, interspersed with moments of entertainment.

“This year’s agenda is truly rich with topics, inspirations, and discussion opportunities. We have selected outstanding guests who have “gone beyond the limits” in their fields and can serve as inspiration and points of discussion for our audience,” stated Carlo Noseda, President of IAB Italia. “Thanks to the push of IoT, always-on connectivity, hyper-mobility without limits, virtual reality, and artificial intelligence, we are truly living in a moment of infinite possibilities. As an Association, we want to encourage everyone to challenge themselves, to go beyond, and to reshape the reality in which they operate, for the benefit of their own competitiveness and the entire industry.”

Opening the proceedings of the fourteenth IAB Forum will be Carlo Noseda, President of IAB. He will be followed by a presentation from Marta Valsecchi, Director of Internet Media and Mobile Strategy Observatories at the Digital Innovation Observatories of the Politecnico di Milano, who will discuss the growth trends in the Digital Adv market over the past year. David Shing, Digital Prophet at AOL., will offer a visionary and futuristic glimpse into how the digital world will be disruptively transformed, including from a creative standpoint.

Concluding the first segment of events will be Marco Muraglia, President of Audiweb, who will illustrate the scenario of web consumption by Italian consumers.

After a first break, the exciting playful-sporting performance by the free-styler group Fast Foot will introduce the presentation of the IAB – EY research on the economic and employment impact of the Italian digital sector, curated by Carlo Noseda, President of IAB Italia, Aldo Agostinelli, Vice President of IAB Italia, and Andrea Paliani, Managing Partner & CEO of the Management Consulting firm – EY Mediterranean Region.

In the second part of the morning, Luca Prina, Central Director of Marketing and Communication at CheBanca!, will discuss the role of automation in communication processes and customer relationships within financial services. This will be followed by a roundtable discussion with prominent figures from the publishing world who will explore present and future media business models. Participants in the discussion will include Nick Rockwell, CTO of The New York Times; Laurence Bonicalzi Bridier, President of Le Monde PublicitĂ©; Riccardo Luna, Editor-in-Chief of Agi – Agenzia Giornalistica Italia; Massimo Russo, Managing Director of the Digital Division at Gruppo Editoriale L’Espresso.

The day will also cover major digital world trends: the importance of video, through the success story of “limitless” YouTuber Sofia Viscardi and the creativity of 360° videos; space for mobile as a crucial factor, with Samuel Keret, Vice President of Business Development at Waze; while Giuseppe Riva, Director of the Laboratory of Communicative Interaction and New Technologies at the UniversitĂ  Cattolica del Sacro Cuore Milano, will demonstrate through demos the disruptive potential of Artificial Intelligence in everyday reality.

The growth drivers and future trends of Digital Adv will be the focus of a discussion featuring Davide Mondo, CEO of Mediamond; Christina Lundari, Managing Director of AOL. Italia; Roberto Binaghi, Chairman & CEO of Mindshare Italia – Groupm; Axel Steinman, VP International Strategic Search Ad Sales at Microsoft.

During the second day, Stephen Attenborough, Commercial Director of Virgin Galactic, will speak about space travel and the new frontiers of the concept of “vacation,” accompanying attendees on a journey with the world’s first private space tourism company. Also on the topic of mobility, Sebastien Gendron, Founder & CEO of TransPod Inc., will present the concept of Hyperloop and super-fast transportation that will enable limitless travel in the near future.

Mikael Yang, Founder of ManyChat, will discuss the importance of bots in marketing and communication; Barbara Poggiali, Head of Strategic Marketing at PosteItaliane, will talk about new technologies applied to citizen services.

The fascinating world of human-machine interface will be explored by John Underkoffler, who will guide the IAB Forum audience. Founder & CEO of Oblong Industries, Underkoffler also serves as a consultant for many Hollywood screenplays, such as “Minority Report.”

Federico Ciccone, Chief Marketing & Customer Experience Officer at Fastweb, will discuss networks serving new digital experiences. The CEO & Founder of the digital agency Akqa, Ajaz Ahmed, will lead insights into the meaning of limitless creativity. Lucrezia Bisignani, Founder & CEO of Kukua, will address topics of start-ups, non-profits, and digital solidarity, presenting a mobile gaming project designed to teach 250 million illiterate children in Sub-Saharan countries to read, write, and basic arithmetic simply through play.

Former British advertiser Cindy Gallop, famous for launching the site “makelovenotporn,” which aims to be an educational alternative to the proliferation of the pornography industry, will share her experience and discuss the “IfWeRunTheWorld” platform, dedicated to social initiatives. Marco Tempest will entertain the audience with a creative break, focusing on illusion technology and media magic.
