Nexus 5: camera bug soon to be fixed, fix coming soon

The arrival of Android L will also benefit Nexus 5: Google promises a fix for the camera bug.

The Nexus 5 is a smartphone – made by Google – particularly appreciated at the moment. However, it is not without criticism and points of contention from buyers, as is the case with any product.
There is one specific aspect in particular that has long caused much disappointment for those who own and use a Nexus 5: it is a camera bug.
Indeed, many have reported excessive battery consumption and, after a series of checks, it has been established that the problem lies in a camera-related app.
The “culprit” process is the one named “mm-qcamera-daemon” which very often – even when not actually in use – remains open and operational in the background, thus inexorably affecting the remaining charge reserves.
Google staff working on Nexus projects tried to fix this with the Android update to version 4.4.3, however, the problem was not resolved but only slightly alleviated.
News is circulating these hours that the hurdle is about to be overcome.
It is understood, in fact, that in the next version of Android – Android L – which is nearing its release and arrival on many Googlephone devices – there will be a dedicated fix that will put an end to this issue.
Confirmation in this regard comes from reviewing the official page related to resolved bugs (on code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=70755#c171), concerning the Android Open Source Project.

Right here, in fact, it is possible to note that “mm-qcamera-daemon” is listed as “Future release”. Therefore, specific work has been done on the problem and it seems that a total and definitive resolution has been achieved, at least for Nexus 5 users.
It is not yet possible to inform readers about the release date, but as soon as there is official information on the matter, we will not delay in discussing it again.
