Facebook’s new Film feature will make the cinema-going experience even more social for movie enthusiasts.
First launched in the United States and more recently in the United Kingdom and Canada, Film allows users to view all nearby movie showtimes, wherever they are, and share this experience with friends thanks to a wealth of content just a click away.
To try Film, simply access Facebook’s main menu and select the icon resembling a film reel. Two sections will then appear: “Movies,” listing current showtimes, descriptions, trailers, and all information about the cast and director, and “Cinemas,” providing a list of theaters, showtimes, and links to purchase tickets online.
Once a movie and theater are selected, tickets can be purchased with a single click directly on the cinema’s website, where e-commerce is available, with payment and transaction completion occurring there. Upon completion, the cinema will send the purchaser an email confirmation with a barcode or QR code for the e-ticket, depending on the e-commerce system used.
