It seems that work is underway to launch Spotify for free on smartphones and tablets as well.
Interesting rumors are beginning to surface from across the ocean regarding the upcoming release of a free version of Spotify on smartphones and tablets.
This leak comes from the pages of the “Wall Street Journal,” which anticipates that the free version of Spotify for mobile devices will most likely be “supported” through the introduction of advertising banners placed within the app.
Currently, in fact, Spotify functions fully on terminals but only in its paid version, as a satisfactory agreement has not yet been reached between the company and the major record labels.
It appears that something is moving in this direction, soon bringing news for all those users who wish to at least test Spotify’s service on their own smartphones.
Two usage profiles are hypothesized: one completely free but subject to restrictions (likely related to the number of songs listenable within a specific period) and another that will continue to be paid, with unlimited access to the title database.
If all of this were to truly take shape, Spotify would certainly have an even broader user base from here on out: the success of this music service is already on a strong upward trend, and total integration with the mobile world could only further increase the already excellent numbers and results.
