Already presented as distinct but not yet available in our country, the big day has arrived for Xbox One: in Italy, the console has indeed gone on sale starting today, Friday, November 22nd.
As anticipated, Xbox One works with the new Kinect but – contrary to early announcements – the accessory device can be disabled, thus it will not be essential for gameplay or multimedia use of the new Microsoft console.
Certainly, the Xbox One arrives at a crucial and deliberate moment: in time for the opening of the holiday sales, it is preparing to position itself as the perfect gift (or self-gift) for gamers.
Not only that: Xbox One debuts in Italy a week ahead of its great rival, namely Sony’s new PlayStation 4.
Will the choice fall on one or the other?
It is still difficult to hypothesize, as both are very interesting products.
However, there is a rather important difference to highlight which, in many cases, could tip the scales for certain target audiences interested in new consoles: the price.
This factor cannot be overlooked, as the price of the Xbox One in Italy is 499 euros.
Microsoft has lowered the price level compared to previous releases; this should be noted.
However, in the active “war” at retail points, the average consumer cannot fail to notice that the price of the PlayStation 4 will instead be around 400 euros: a lower outlay of 100 euros, which is not a small amount.
The competition is therefore becoming very interesting, and the first conclusions can certainly be drawn in about a month or so, with the test of the holiday sales.
