Apple asks for time to improve iOS 6 maps

The release of the new iOS 6 operating system has brought with it the first criticisms, mostly concerning the available map system.
Having abandoned Google Maps, Apple has provided new cartography that has genuinely excited users, especially with the experience of the FlyOver mode.
However, in many cases, major errors have been observed, such as the disappearance of the Statue of Liberty and its replacement by only its shadow. Or the flattening of the Eiffel Tower into the surrounding terrain.
Aside from these macroscopic errors, some users have already reported more “minor” inaccuracies, concerning locations not well indicated on the maps or positioned in incorrect contexts. Furthermore, distortions in images are often noticeable, particularly on bridges and overpasses.
In response to these criticisms, an Apple spokesperson has spoken out, providing some information to users.
Trudy Muller has indeed made some statements to AllThingsD, explaining that Cupertino is working to improve the maps, also relying on user interaction.

We are aware that the service is only at the beginning of its journey and its potential, therefore the invitation is to be patient and to use the maps as much as possible, because the more users utilize them, the more the errors will be corrected, as it is a cloud-based technology.
Therefore, the final verdict will be expressed at a later time: today it is still impossible to form a precise opinion, although it is evident that the new maps have great potential and a very interesting level of detail.
