Amazon has finally opened sales of the tablet Kindle Fire also to Italy, simultaneously launching the brand new Kindle Fire HD.
The latter is the more advanced version of the “simple” Kindle Fire, whose features were the subject of an article on FullPress the day after its global presentation, before its release on the US market.
As for the new Kindle Fire HD, it has a 7-inch screen with a 1280×800 resolution and IPS technology, combined with the Advanced True Wide polarization filter and laminated touch sensor that has been designed to offer a 25% reduction in glare. Gorilla Glass was chosen to ensure durability.
The processor with the new Imagination Technologies graphics engine for HD graphics ensures speed and smoothness in content presentation, quickly downloaded thanks to the Wi-Fi connection module. Regarding the connection, it should be noted that Kindle Fire HD is equipped with the latest generation dual-band Wi-Fi dual antenna: this measure avoids using the same frequency as other tablets, household appliances, or surveillance systems. Additionally, Multiple In/Multiple Out (MIMO) technology further aids transmission speed, resulting in a very smooth experience.
Regarding internal memory, there are 16 GB or 32 GB options, depending on the version chosen.
On the audio side, there’s the Dolby Digital Plus audio system: clear and loud sounds even without headphones. If you want to use Bluetooth headphones, the Kindle Fire HD supports this possibility, and there is also an HDMI output to connect the tablet to a TV screen.
It also has an HD front camera, ideal for Skype use: preloaded with an app specifically designed for this device.

All this is supported by a battery that, according to Amazon’s indications, would ensure 11 hours of autonomy.
Kindle Fire HD weighs 395 grams and has a thickness of 10.3 millimeters.
Naturally, contents can be replenished drawing from Amazon’s vast multimedia store catalog, and your own files can also be easily managed with Microsoft Exchange and any preferred email client.
As for the prices of Kindle Fire and Kindle Fire HD, here is the summary table:

• Kindle Fire: €159, already available for pre-order on Amazon and shipping from October 25.
• Kindle Fire HD:

  – Kindle Fire HD 32 GB: €249.
