Samsung, in addition to launching high-end products such as the Samsung Galaxy S 3, also thinks about devices with a low cost price: this is the case of the new Samsung Galaxy Chat.
This smartphone will initially be launched in China and Latin America before making its appearance in Europe: it is not yet known when it will arrive in Italy, but the first European country to sell the device will certainly be Spain.
Regarding the technical characteristics of the Samsung Galaxy Chat, the first notable feature is the presence of a physical QWERTY keyboard: almost a rarity nowadays when talking about smartphones.
The chosen operating system is Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, accompanied by an 850 MHz processor.
The RAM is 512 MB while the natively available internal memory is 4 GB, expandable up to 32 GB via an external microSD card.
The battery proves to be adequate, considering the internal engineering: it is 1200 mAh.
Regarding the screen, it is a 3-inch QVGA type, useful for all main functions and for viewing photos taken thanks to the 2 Megapixel camera positioned on the back of the casing.
Connectivity includes Wi-Fi and Bluetooth modules, useful for staying connected and exchanging files.
The software package shows a strong inclination towards the use of a specific application: indeed, much emphasis is placed on the instant messaging system called “ChatON”, useful for communicating not only between Android devices but also with Windows Phone, BlackBerry, Symbian, and even Bada.
Many games can be utilized for a continuous gaming experience.
Regarding the price, no specific figure has been mentioned yet, but the company aims for a low cost price to “attack” the corresponding market segment.
