There is still much secrecy surrounding the Xolo X900, Intel’s first smartphone. Here are some previews, including information on its price.

Intel has announced – with a clever surprise move – its decision to enter the smartphone sector with a device called Xolo X900.
CEO Paul Ostellini himself broke the news, although without adding many details to the brief presentation.
What is certain is that the Xolo X900 will debut primarily in Asia, and perhaps later expand to Western markets.
India will likely be the first to see the new Intel smartphone, though it’s not entirely confirmed if it will run the Android 4 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system.
More probably, the device will launch with Gingerbread and be updated to version 4 later.
Intel has also stated that it has well-established plans for the future: the idea is to expand the new smartphone line over the next two years, and then also offer low-cost smartphones. However, this is not expected to happen before 2013, according to current company projections.
Regarding the brand-new Xolo X900, recent previews suggest specifications including a 1.6GHz Atom processor and a particularly robust battery offering around 5 hours of navigation autonomy.
The screen will be 4.03 inches, and for the multimedia features, it’s understood there will be an 8-megapixel camera.
It’s too early to speak with certainty about the price for the Xolo X900, but it seems the figure for purchasing Intel’s first smartphone will be around $400.
