Born as a study aid, it is actually shaping up to be an affordable tablet: this is Studybook, the educational slate that will soon be commercialized by Intel.
Despite being a simple product announced as accessible to everyone, the Studybook tablet will still feature respectable technical components.
We are talking about the presence of an Atom Z650 SoC processor: even if it’s a single core, it boasts a decent 1.2 GHz power.
The screen will be 7 inches with a probable resolution of 1024×600 pixels and will naturally be capacitive.
According to what has leaked so far, there should be two cameras available: the main one will be 2 megapixels, very minimal indeed. Little is known about the secondary camera: it will most likely be below 1 megapixel. Furthermore, you will be able to choose whether you want the version with a secondary camera (i.e., the front-facing one) or if you prefer to do without it.
As for memory, we will have 1 GB of RAM and several internal memory “sizes”: 4, 8, 16, and 32 GB.

Standard connectivity will be Wi-Fi, but a model with 3G should also be released.
The software side is interesting: Studybook, having been designed specifically for students, will have an ebook reader optimized for the device; suffice it to say that Intel announces that “the infrastructure is customized for individual geographical areas in terms of content, cultural relevance, and language”.
Definitely a good product, especially since the casing and display are resistant to scratches, dust, and shocks, as it is intended to be handled in typical classroom conditions, thus at risk of drops and movement.
The price of Intel’s Studybook is expected to be around $200, no more.
