Older Android versions at risk of being hacked: information

Those who own devices with older versions of Android will have to be aware of the risk of hacker attacks: Google has made it official.

News for Android smartphone and tablet owners: many of these devices could soon become prey to hacker attacks.
This is not a general concern but a fact, since Google He explicitly stated that older versions of the operating system will not receive updates regarding the protection adjustments aimed at “closing” a specific security flaw well known to developers and hackers.
There is talk of a problem with the navigation browser, concerning the WebView.
Some experts say using other browsers eliminates the problem at its root, while other opinions suggest that simply changing browsers is not an option, as WebView is still used by app developers.
This means that you could find yourself with the same problem even when using some apps.
Attackers could therefore exploit this vulnerability to obtain users' personal data.
Despite the evidence of the danger, why isn't Google taking action to limit the damage?
The reason is quite simple to explain: the Google staff in charge of this type of issue has openly revealed that to release updates of this kind, it would be necessary to operate and rewrite 5 million lines of code.
An operation evidently considered too demanding, perhaps even uneconomical, but which exposes too many users to very real dangers.

This problem in fact affects all devices running Android versions prior to Jelly Bean, so we are talking about iOS prior to the 4.3 release.
All things considered, this is the majority of Android device users: it is estimated that around 60% of smartphones and tablets worldwide are equipped with this device.
We await any news or changes of heart from Google, although the official statement has all the flavour of a definitive communication.
