Instagram is changing the way photos are presented. They will no longer be in chronological order, as they are now, but in order of interest. This change was announced a few days ago and is now being rolled out experimentally.
Instagram is changing, and it’s doing so by adapting to the world’s most well-known social network: Facebook. If until today photos were shown in chronological order, from today with the implementation of a new algorithm, this will no longer be the case. The order of photos will be by interest, much to the dismay of those who had invested a large portion of their budgets on the most well-known photo app in the world.
Instagram revolutionizes content in two weeks
About two weeks agoInstagram had already announced the decision. “AsInstagram has grown, it’s become harder to see all the content people share. This often means that you miss the moments you care about most. To improve your experience, the feed will be ordered to show you what we believe will be of most interest to you.”
Although the new way of showing content has not been activated on all profiles, the testing phase has begun as stated byInstagram onTwitter. The wind of change, however, has not been liked at all by users ofInstagram, who have panicked. There are those who post photos to signal the activation of notifications, who protest, who wonder why.
Instagram new timeline?
Instagram, for its part, informs its over 400 million users that the change will not be as rapid as expected and that it will listen to those who have helped grow the community to date.
But the announced change is certainly oriented towards the profits of the corporation, whose ownership is in the hands of Facebook. Even if the testing phases do not mean a certain change, we are ready to bet that nothing has been left to chance by Instagram.
We will see if the popular petition launched on Change.org in these hours will lead to the suspension of the experiment by Instagram, thus listening to the people of the community who become sovereign, or if the reasons that pushed the microblogging will silence the appeals.
