Sooner or later it was bound to happen, and today we have confirmation: the agreement between MySpace and Facebook is official. To avoid collapse, MySpace has decided to fully integrate Facebook login.
MySpace has said yes to Facebook: the two social networks will now be linked, allowing MySpace users to “tie” their profile to their one on Facebook. An inevitable decision to try and stem the hemorrhage of MySpace subscribers, who are increasingly moving towards Facebook.
Green light, therefore, for the sharing of MySpace content on Facebook profiles.
In fact, the agreement seems to have the contours of surrender rather than a proactive partnership or a spontaneous opening towards an illustrious “colleague”.
If before the arrival of Zuckerberg’s creation, MySpace was *the* Social Network par excellence – the strongest, the most cheerful, the most cutting-edge – after Facebook, nothing was ever the same: the social glue (or pseudo-glue) exerted by the new virtual environment gradually disintegrated the other social networks, conquering a dominant position that, today, the competition can no longer and fails to ignore.
Oppose strenuous resistance or agree with Facebook? It must have been an almost forced choice, given that even the younger Twitter has surpassed MySpace.
Thus, Facebook Connect (Facebook login on MySpace pages) marks the pace of times in the social world, a world of rapid evolution and oligarchic future scenarios.
